Help Us Support Renee in Her Fight Against Brain Cancer
We are reaching out to you today on behalf of an incredible woman, Renee Fraine, who is facing an unimaginably tough battle. Renee is a single mother from Richmond, VA, and a dedicated middle school teacher at St. Joseph's School in Petersburg, VA. Fourteen years ago, Renee bravely fought and won her battle against breast cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer has now metastasized to her brain, liver, and other areas, bringing new and difficult challenges into her life including the onset of mobility challenges.
Originally from Rye, NY, Renee has devoted her life to nurturing and educating young minds, showing unwavering strength and compassion to her students and community, and was recently recognized as “Teacher of the Year” by her colleagues. Now, she needs our help more than ever. The fight against this aggressive cancer requires extensive treatment, including skilled nursing care followed by in-home care, which comes at an overwhelming financial cost.
Despite having disability coverage, the benefits are insufficient to cover her mounting medical expenses and the essential care she needs to recover and maintain a quality of life. Renee's situation is urgent and critical; without additional support, the financial burden is unmanageable.
Adding to the emotional strain, Renee’s only son is about to leave for college in August (on a full scholarship!). This milestone, which should be a time of celebration and joy, is now overshadowed by the heavy financial and emotional burden of her illness. Our support will allow Renee to focus on her health and spending precious time with him before he embarks on this new chapter of his life, without the constant worry of financial strain.
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to rally around Renee and her family. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help cover the costs of her medical treatment, skilled nursing, and in-home care. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in her life. Please consider contributing to this fund and sharing Renee's story with others who may be able to help.
Renee has always been a pillar of strength, courage, and kindness in our community. Now, it is our turn to support her. Let's come together to give Renee the fighting chance she deserves and to ensure she feels the love and support of her community during this incredibly challenging time. Renee is optimistic about her recovery, and she is hopeful to return to the classroom in the Fall.
Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support.
With gratitude,
Renee's family
