Fiordland Equestrian Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Program was formed to help retire thoroughbred's by providing a safe landing after their racing career by rehabilitating and placing into high-quality homes.

Our plan is simple.

-Generous layup/turn out time for proper rest and healing.

-High-quality nutrition and supplement plans.

-Focus on creating good citizens through ground work.

-Thorough vet evaluations with gentle restarting plans

-Rehoming within quality homes with their new, suitable careers

During each residents initial intake, we work closely with our vet to do a thorough evaluation to create an effective baseline for our rehabilitation plan. During this time, we will administer recommended vaccinations, update Coggins (if due), schedule dental exam, and any other routine maintenance required. For our friends with more sensitive needs and rehabilitating, we will take proper steps to get them on the right track!

With such high costs for rehabilitation, funding is key. It is no secret that vet bills cost thousands of dollars. With most medications and supplements being an additional burden. And these costs don’t include board, farrier bills, and other important aspects of caring for equines.
