Chase the Warrior <3
My name is Stevie and I am hoping to raise funds for my beautiful sister Reyna and loving husband Jamie.
Today marks one month since they tragically lost their beloved baby boy, Chase Ruben Farrell at 10 and a half weeks old. The pain of this loss is beyond words, and I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to offer them some support during this incredibly difficult time. I know they would not want me to do this as they are the most giving and beautiful people I know but I think it's right as I know first hand how much they need us.
Reyna and Jamie are high school sweethearts and have been navigating life's challenges together with unwavering love and dedication. After 16 long years of longing to start a family, they were overjoyed to receive the news that they could pursue IVF treatment. It was a dream come true for them, a glimmer of hope after years of uncertainty.
The journey of Reyna's pregnancy came with challenges, from battling gestational diabetes to being high-risk due to her age. Despite these hurdles, Reyna and Jamie remained positive, eagerly anticipating the arrival of their long-awaited miracle. Every scan brought both excitement for milestones reached and fear of potential setbacks.
On November 17th, 2023, World Premature Baby Day, Chase decided to make his grand entrance into the world, four months earlier than expected. His premature birth meant that plans for an over the top baby shower had to be set aside - they were so excited for his arrival and just wanted to go all out as it was finally their turn. With Chase calling the shots, Reyna and Jamie joked that Chase must have been eager to attend his own celebration. They had already chosen his name, a symbol of their journey of "chasing" their rainbow.
Weighing only 700 grams at birth, Chase faced immense odds as an extreme preemie. Yet, he came into the world with his eyes open, ready to fight alongside his devoted parents. For the next 10 weeks and 5 days, Chase remained in the NICU, where Reyna and Jamie spent every day by his side, Reyna giving up her whole world to sit alongside him for 14 plus hours daily and at times over night.
Despite the challenges, Reyna and Jamie held onto hope, eagerly awaiting the day they could finally bring Chase home. His strength and resilience was inspiring, bringing light into their lives with his developing personality. However, at just 5 weeks old, Chase underwent two surgeries, and despite overcoming them against all odds, a subsequent surgery 5 weeks later tragically claimed his life. Chase sadly passed away on 31/01/2024.
What happened to Chase was devastating and what we all came witness to the night of his passing is haunting. For legal reasons I can not go too much into the details; however his death remains with questions unanswered and when the time comes everyone will know Chase’s story. Reyna and Jamie and our family are dedicated to getting justice for Chase and we won't stop fighting for it. This makes his loss so much harder to accept and comprehend. There is no world where ‘this was meant to be’. Chase was meant to be here and he proved that.
The loss of Chase has shattered Reyna and Jamie's world. The financial burden of IVF treatments, preparations for Chase's arrival, and now funeral expenses weigh heavily on them. Coupled with their unbearable grief, they are currently unable to work, adding to their financial strain.
This is a nightmare that they can not wake up from and are forced to relive this reality every passing day. I am hoping by starting this Go Fund Me we can relieve at least one hardship during this absolutely tragic time.
If you have met Reyna and Jamie you will agree that they are the strongest, kindest and most giving people in the world and this absolute tragedy should have never happened, especially to them or poor sweet baby Chase. I am lost for words and just wish I could bring their precious boy home to them, where he belongs.
Your donations will directly support Reyna and Jamie as they navigate the hard road ahead, whether it's covering daily expenses, bills, or easing the financial burden they incurred in their journey to bring Chase into the world.
Even if you're unable to donate, your words of support and thoughts for Reyna and Jamie are deeply appreciated. Let us come together as a community to provide them with the support they need as they grieve the loss of their precious son. No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a difference.
We love you baby Chase. A tiny, brave and mighty little warrior taken too soon.
