Richard Chai passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 9, 2019 at the age of 55 years old - one day before his wife's birthday. We are starting this GoFundMe in honor of him and in support his family: our Aunt Eunice and cousins, Jacqueline and Justin.

Richard was generous, loving, funny, and a wonderful uncle to us. He is one of those people with a genuinely good heart and was always ready with a light-hearted joke to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. Both he and his wife, Eunice, are also two of the most selfless and hard-working people I know. They always put others' needs before their own and worked tirelessly in support of their friends and family, never asking for anything in return.

Richard's daughter, Jacqueline, is 23 years old and will be going back to school in the fall for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree. His son, Justin, is 20 years old and is currently an undergraduate student at UC-Irvine.

Richard had been the primary income earner in his family and his company unfortunately did not leave his family with any life insurance or other financial benefits after his untimely death. Both of his children are still in school with significant tuition fees and will be taking out large sums in students loans to help pay for their educations. Any contribution would help his family focus more on his memory and less on the financial burdens.

Please contribute whatever you can to help Richard's family during this difficult time. Funds raised will go towards funeral expenses, paying for Jacqueline and Justin's education, and helping to bridge any other major expenses his family may face.
