Support Richard Danner's Liver Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
I've had the pleasure of knowing my son's best friend's parents for more than a decade. They are Liz and Richard Danner and they're a hardworking and caring couple who have always blessed their friends and community with kindness. I've helped along side them as they've organized Christmas gifts for Foster Kids year after year. They've given their time and resources behind the scenes for many families and children in their community, Moriarty, NM. Richard is a longtime nurse who has been a pilar in his community and church. A couple weeks ago Liz texted me to pray for them as Richard suddenly acquired severe Fulminant Liver Failure due bacteria from food he ate. The failure was quickly progressing such an emergency that he and Liz had to be flown to Houston Methodist Medical Center where he needed to prepare for a liver transplant. After two transplants (the first liver didn't take) he is still in critical but stable care but still at the very beginning stages of recovery but with a long road ahead. In order to receive the transplant, Liz had to commit them to living in Houston for a year for his treatment and is now having to figure out how they will do that.
Liz has not left Richards side and their son has had to take care of things at home in Moriarty, New Mexico. Liz is fighting alongside Richard but they really do not have the resources to relocate. With the transplants and the medical expenses, and co-pays not covered by insurance, there is great need of monetary help and I know they just need to focus on healing.
Any donation amount would be so valued and appreciated. If you cannot donate, please pray for Liz and Richard and that this liver will make his body whole again and they can get back do their son, church family and church ministry as well as their favorite hobbies, fishing, hiking, pets and family.
