Support Richard (Dickie) Davis Fight Against ALS
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, Associates, Acquaintances, Any and All,
Our brother Richard (Dickie) Davis has unfortunately been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). His fight began in 2018 when he was showing symptoms of nerve damage which over time led to a formal diagnosis of PLS (Primary Lateral Sclerosis) in 2022. PLS in short, is a slower progressing, non-fatal form of ALS. Sadly, over the last 2 years his symptoms worsened, and his health began to deteriorate at a more rapid pace. This led doctors to suspect ALS and then finally in July of this year he was officially diagnosed with ALS. ALS is a cruel and relentless fatal disease; it has already robbed him of his mobility and will continue to erode his motor skills including speech and breathing.
Richard is not only our brother but also a loving husband to his amazing wife Rosa and a devoted father to his two incredible sons, Patrick 13, and Mark 11. Through all of this, Richard continues to fight and stay active in their lives. For those that know Richard (Dickie), you know the passion that he brings to everything he does, and this was never more evident than through his son Patrick’s Motocross journey. Richard has been there every step of the way, through the early stages of racing in Mexico to building a Motocross team and brand (Cortero Racing) now in Houston, TX where he and his family reside. Richard’s work passion has always been textiles, and he has a gift for developing new products and bringing them to life. He was on his way to building a sustainable successful business when this evil disease reared its head. Unfortunately, this disease is rapidly robbing him of his passions and his ability to support his family physically and financially.
The financial burden of ALS, including medical bills, specialized equipment, home and vehicle upgrades, home care, etc., can be extremely overwhelming. Insurance only pays for certain things and there are many expenses that are out of pocket. Rosa has been a real-life superhero taking on the monumental task of being the sole caregiver, and while she never bats an eye or complains about the stress, it will eventually be too much for one person to take on. Without family close by, additional in-home medical care will be necessary.
Bottomline, we are asking for your help to allow Richard to continue to get the medical help he needs and to support his family, raise his children and preserve his legacy for generations to come. Richard is man of great pride, and he would never ask for the help, so we are doing that on his behalf.
Any and all donations make a difference, no amount is too little. We all thank you in advance for your donation and if you are not in a position to contribute, please offer a prayer or thoughts of hope on Richard’s behalf.
Thank you all for your support.
Love Always,
The Davis Family
