Support Richard's Journey to Rehab

Richard & Donna were on their way back from visiting friends in Kansas when Richard woke up in their Ohio hotel room knowing something was wrong. Within a short time, he was in a special care unit in a Toledo hospital having had 2 strokes. Unfortunately, Richard had to be put on a ventilator & a feeding tube so that the doctors would have time to decide on the right rehabilitation for him. Days turned into weeks, which turned into over a month, while his medical team and Donna struggled with insurance to get him to a facility that could provide rehab to get him off of the ventilator. Donna stayed by his side while family and friends made long trips to Ohio to visit.

It looked bleak for a while. Insurance would not approve any facility close to Toledo, and there were no facilities within a 2-hour drive of his home in Castorland, NY. Finally, on Oct 24th, his medical team and insurance found the perfect facility in Harrisburg, PA—not close to their home but close to many of Richard’s family & friends in PA. Donna would finally get out of an Airbnb and be able to stay in a family home.

Now there is one big hurdle that we need your help with—payment for the required medical airplane transport from Ohio to Harrisburg, PA. Richard made it there and is currently receiving the type of rehab he needs, BUT—insurance would not pay for his medical transport. So he needs your help to pay the $20,000 bill. Will you help?
