Support Rigo Chacon's Abrazos and Books
Donation protected
Hi friends.
Who could ever forget Rigo Chacon? He really is who most of us think of when we talk about broadcast news in the Bay Area!
Rigo's first job was as a reporter at San Jose's KNTV, an ABC affiliate. That led to an Emmy award and a job at San Francisco's KGO where he opened the very first Silicon Valley Bureau. Those of us who know Rigo and worked with him know he is a class act. Professional, detailed, and incredibly caring for people.
In 1990 Rigo established his own non-profit, Abrazos and Books. A & B has awarded HUNDREDS of scholarships to Santa Clara County students in need. Ethnicity is NOT a factor in the selection process. A & B also supports entities that address the needs of children who are poverty stricken, disabled, or victims of natural catastrophes.
Well, now it's Rigo who needs our help. After suffering a debilitating injury, Rigo is bed bound and has been for months. Even though he is suffering, Rigo's focus has been on A & B and the needs of others. Because of his current condition Rigo has had to put a halt on his efforts to fundraise for A & B. That is his top priority currently which speaks volumes to Rigo's character. Any funds donated will go straight to the Abrazos and Books non-profit so Rigo can continue his amazing work, even if from his bed. Child farm worker, student leader, community leader and broadcasting legend.
Will you please help so Rigo can continue the amazing work he does?
