When Matt & Michelle Banz opened RiverWatch Grill opened in 1998, they didn’t know the everlasting impact it would have on our community. For decades, RiverWatch has been a sanctuary on the Rocky Broad River, where friends, family, and visitors from near and far gather to create memories, enjoy a meal, and take in the beauty of Chimney Rock. This beloved gathering place has served as a backdrop to countless special moments for all of you- birthday celebrations, family get-togethers, first dates, anniversary dates, rehearsal dinners, vow renewal ceremonies, and everyday casual meals shared with the people you love.

We’ve got to share so much with you over the years and it reminds us how special RiverWatch has been– not just for us, but for all of you as well. The Banz Family has poured their hearts and dedicated so much of their life to this special restaurant, and now we are facing a challenge like never before.

Hurricane Helene caused the Rocky Broad River to rise with a force we never imagined possible. Many buildings were swept away, and the flood waters surged through Main Street, leaving devastation in their wake. Though our beloved RiverWatch is still standing, it is deeply wounded and in desperate need of help to recover.

While we’re grateful the building remains, the damage is overwhelming, and we are asking for your help with funds for building repairs, replacing vital equipment, and supporting our RiverWatch family.

We are asking, with heavy hearts, for any help you can provide. Whether it’s a donation, sharing this page, or simply keeping us in your thoughts, your support means the world to us. Every bit brings us a little closer to restoring what we’ve worked so hard to build.
