Support RJ's Relief Efforts in The Grenadines

My name is RJ Portmann. I am a professional sailing captain throughout the Caribbean. I have lived in and sailed through Grenada and The Grenadines for many years now and are happy to call it home and it's people our family.

We have two god children, one in Carriacou and one in St. Vincent. My wife, Jenna, and I have a deep felt love and admiration for these islands and especially for the people of Grenada and The Grenadines.

They are in desperate need of help.

As you may well know already; hurricane Beryl, a category 4 hurricane, decimated nearly ALL of the homes and businesses in Carriacou, Union Island, Mayreau and Petit Martinique, July 1st, 2024. The beautiful people of these islands have lost nearly everything except their lives and invincible joyous spirit. They need water, now. They need food, now. They need temporary and more permanent shelters now. The first wave of emergency assistance is on the way now and arriving daily.

We will be a part of the next phase with the help of your donations. Medications, simple necessities like soap, feminine products and tooth paste and clothing. They will need everything that you and I may take for granted that we have around our homes for comfort and cleanliness.

We will also be purchasing Generators, tools, lights, batteries and a long list of essential items needed to help clean up and then begin to rebuild homes and businesses.

Please help us to supply them with all that we can. These funds and supplies will go directly to community leaders that we trust to do right to distribute and supply their communities. We do not intend to supply officials or any "middle men" with funding that could "disappear". Jeremie Tronet and Romeo Simmons on Union Island, Richard St. Claire on Mayreau and Tim Garraway on Carriacou will be our leaders to distribute supplies and funding as they see it is needed for the families, friends, business and overall health of rebuilding their communities. The funds will be delivered in cash or wired to be used to purchase construction items or general needed supplies.
