Help the Rock Bar Recover After Robbery.
Donation protected
Early Tuesday morning at 2:58 am, the Rock Bar on 29th & Tiffany Avenue was broken into and robbed.
Thankfully, the bar had closed early that night so no employees or patrons were there to witness, what has sadly become, a typical crime in San Francisco.
The thieves broke the front door to gain entry, stole the cash register, cash box, safe, several bottles of expensive liquor and the recording device for the cameras. Of course, they also trashed the bar… the guestimated losses and damages are close to $15k.
Neighbors are sharing personal camera recordings in hopes of identifying the robbers and we will update any findings here. There are reports that the thieves pulled up in a black Nissan Ultima. Of course, if you happen to hear or know anything, please report it to SFPD or let the owners of the bar know.
The Rock Bar is our neighborhood safehaven who welcomes everyone with open arms, has a hardworking and friendly staff, hosts neighborhood parties and supports various causes with fundraisers in their establishment. They were one of the biggest sources of fundraising after the neighborhood was devastated by the 5 Alarm fire in 2016 that destroyed Ace Hardware, the 3300 Club, El Taco Loco and Playa Azul, along with housing.
They truly are an asset to the Bernal/Mission/Noe area, aka, Le Lengua to us locals. As are many other small businesses, they too are still recovering from the Covid closures and downturn of nightlife, so to be robbed is absolutely devastating for a such a small mom and pop business.
If you can, please donate so they can repair the damages to their space, replace some of the weekend earnings that were stolen and add more security measures (cos if you’re gonna do business in SF, the new norm is that you better be prepared for thieves).
Community support is everything. The Rock Bar is a beloved part of our neighborhood (and, of course, in San Francisco in general). They’ve always supported us, so please help support them back if you can. You can donate here or simply stop by for a drink.
Let’s be a Rock for the Rock Bar.
