Help Rome’s Family during his NICU & SCN journey

Donation protected
Update: 26/2/24
Romes doctors are so happy with Romes progress, they’re discussing transferring him hopefully this week to Goulburn hospital ! He is now on alternate feeds through the tube & suck feeds and isn’t quite there yet fully with his sick feeds. Other than that, the only other thing we need from him is to remember to breathe so we can lose the monitoring! Thankyou for all your support!

Update: 6/2/24
Rome officially graduated the NICU into the SCN just over a week ago! He is progressing well & is off his CPAP! Today he is 1 month old and the doctors have put Rome into an open cot as of yesterday!
sad news is, our car has stopped working and the engine is gone. So long bus rides back and forth is what we have been doing in the mean time and spending a little time in the RMCH aswell! Any help is appreciated, even a share! ❤️

Hi our names are Anastasia & Jake from Marulan NSW & we are 24 years old. I (Anastasia) gave birth to my son Rome at 29 weeks, on the 6/1/2024. This was unexpected & happened so quickly. I gave birth at Goulburn Base Hospital where my son was transferred to the NICU in Canberra Women’s & Children’s Hospital where he remains on CPAP. Ever since having bubs, travelling back and forth from Marulan to Canberra was something we thought we would be able to make work on a daily basis, maybe every 2 days. But reality set in quickly and we begun to realise that it wasn’t realistic making so many trips as it took a toll on our family financially & staying in Canberra long term wasn’t much of an option for us either due to having animals at home and my 3 year old son, Ivar.
We are asking any family or friends to donate or share this gofundme to help us make this stressful time a little bit easier and help support our travels & food for our visits. We completely understand that not everyone who comes across our gofundme can afford to donate, but we ask that you support us by sharing this around. Anything left over will go towards Rome’s transition home & things he might need when our dearest boy is discharged (hopefully sometime in March) and the rest will be donated to The Miracle Babies Foundation and/or The Ronald McDonald House Charity.
Thankyou so much for your love & support during this time xoxoxo
