Support Ronnie's Knee Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Veronica Jennings, but my friends call me Ronnie. I recently underwent reconstructive knee surgery for a full MCL tear—an injury I first rehabbed after skiing in March 2024, only to fully tear it in a rugby match in October. Unlike most MCL tears that heal on their own, mine required surgery on January 21, 2025. Recovery is long—very similar to an ACL repair—and physical therapy is essential for me to return to the activities I love.
Unfortunately, I just found out that my insurance covers very few PT sessions, despite hitting my deductible from surgery costs. After those run out, I’ll have to pay $120–$160 per session out of pocket. I work as a rehab therapy tech at an inpatient hospital, but I’m currently unable to work due to recovery, making PT costs a major financial challenge. Doctors and PTs have recommended going twice a week (but with my insurance I would only be able to go every 2-3 weeks).
I’m determined to get back to rugby, skiing, and even complete a Spartan Race to prove to myself what I can do. Staying active is more than just a hobby—it’s essential for my mental and physical health. Missing rugby this year means missing my team, my community, and the lifestyle that makes me feel whole.
If you know me, you know this is very hard for me to ask for help, but any support would mean the world—whether it’s a donation, words of encouragement and check ins, or simply sharing this page. Your help will bring me closer to getting back on my feet, back on the field, and back to doing what I love.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Ronnie
