Support Ross & Eleanor's Elder Care Transition

Greetings Family, Friends & Colleagues!

This has been a challenging three years for the Cheairs family. My father Ross began having a series of health setbacks coinciding with the pandemic in 2020 and then we lost our beloved son and brother, Ross Bruce Cheairs, III (Trey) on July 4, 2021, to a heart attack at the age of 53. Grief has been a constant visitor but so has grace, community care and support. Now we need help to assist with the elder care transition for Ross and Eleanor so that they can experience an enhanced quality of life at this stage of their lives.

My mother, Eleanor Patricia Banks Cheairs is a retired early childhood educator from Shadow Rock Elementary School. She was born in Memphis, TN and is a graduate of Lane College and pledged to Sigma Gamma Rho sorority and holds a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University. She is also a crafter and sewer and was the founder of Homespun Treasures. Eleanor was the recipient of a kidney transplant in 2016.

Ross is from Jackson, TN and a graduate of Fisk University and pledged to Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He is a retired program analyst with the Department of the Army and holds three master's degrees. Ross has been active with organizations like Blacks in Government and the Sierra Club.

Ross and Eleanor are long-time Georgia residents and have been active in their Centers for Spiritual Living and Religious Science communities for over forty years.
