Help Roxy Recover and Support Her Rescue Journey.
Roxy and her sister Moxie were rescued in September from behind my building in Midwood. It was a surprise to find new kittens in the area, as all our community cats are spayed and neutered. Moxie was trapped first and quickly found her forever home, but Roxy, the shyer one, needed more time to adjust and went to a loving foster home where her foster mom was working hard to socialize her.
Last week, Roxy’s health took an unexpected turn when she suddenly developed labored breathing. It quickly became clear she needed immediate help, so I rushed her to an emergency vet. She was diagnosed with pneumonia, treated with oxygen therapy, albuterol, and antibiotics, and thankfully stabilized enough to return home with continued care.
Roxy is recovering well now, but her ER visit left me with a hefty bill of nearly $1,168, and she will need a follow up X-rays in 2 weeks. As an independent rescuer caring for more than 45 cats, this expense is overwhelming. I’m reaching out to this incredible community of animal lovers to ask for help.
Every donation, no matter the size—$1, $5, $10—makes a big difference. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser can help us reach others who might be able to support.
Thank you for helping Roxy and for supporting the lifesaving work of rescuers like me!
