Support Ruben's Fight Against Colon Cancer

Hi everyone, my name is Alexandra and my husband’s name is Ruben who is turning 33 in October. Truthfully I don’t even know where to start but here it goes.

Well, I’ve been in love with my husband since I was five years old. My mom actually babysat him while she was pregnant with me & I believe our connection started there. The love since has only grown, we have two beautiful children together & it’s the family I’ve always dreamed of. Endless love, light & happiness.

All too sudden, my husband started showing signs of sickness. He got sick in May, & lost an alarming thirty seven pounds & immediately when getting an MRI, Drs saw the irregular spots. After numerous tests and consultations with doctors, we received the devastating news: Ruben has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Which we now unfortunately know is Colon cancer stage 4 which has spread to his liver. It was their medical decision to get a colostomy surgery within 36 hours of being admitted.

So unreal how life can be perfect and immediately just turn upside down. The news hit us with an emotional toll that has been overwhelming. But what adds to our worries is the financial burden that comes with his treatment. Our children still don’t know our reality. Mommy & daddy are trying our hardest to stay strong for them, all while falling apart behind hospital doors.

To make matters worse, Ruben is currently unable to work due to his deteriorating health. As a result, I have taken on the role of the sole provider for our family. While I am doing my best to support us, the financial strain is becoming unmanageable, and we are falling behind on our basic living expenses. Affording our day to day living expenses, medications, the colostomy bags, the doctors appointments, everything medical related is unfortunately the hardest hill to climb let alone curing the cancer itself.

This is why I am humbly reaching out to you all today. We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to seek your support and generosity in helping Ruben receive the life-saving treatment he desperately needs.
