Support Ruby Punzalan's Healing

As many of you have heard that on March 16th there was a very tragic accident in North Vancouver where a car crashed into the A&W Restaurant on Marine Drive. The car drove through the side of the restaurant causing the fryers to strike Ruby, pushing her to the floor and dousing her with hot cooking oil. Our beloved, Ruby Punzalan, was seriously injured in this accident and needs our help.

Ruby was immediately transported to Vancouver General Hospital by ambulance following the accident with severe burns to over 20% of her body. She is also suffering from other injuries which have yet to be fully determined.

Ruby is currently in the VGH ICU on life support. As for now, she is sedated in a medically-induced coma. Once she comes out of this coma, she will move back to VGH’s burn unit.

Ruby is expected to be at VGH for many months. She is surrounded by her husband Renel, Victorina Ibarra (mom) & and her two children, as well as her extended family. We have been by her side through every minute of this & will continue to do so until she comes home.

Ruby is a kind hearted & truly amazing person. She is the mother of two wonderful children; Elijah (15) & Ayia (13). She has been married for 16 years to her high school sweetheart. Ruby has been working for The Friendship Food Company dba A&W for over 11 years and is currently employed as the area manager.

We are overwhelmingly grateful for the love and support the family has received, but would love to take the financial burden off the family so they can be there for Ruby in these trying time. This go fund me will help cover some of the costs as Ruby, her family, and the medical team work towards building her new normal going forward. The majority of which will be going towards family costs to be by her side in the hospital, her rehabilitation costs, and whatever else comes with the uncertainty of her long road to recovery.
