Support rural health clinic in Golog, Tibet
Donation protected
For over 10 years, the non-profit Golog Support in Luxembourg has supported the construction and establishment of a rural health clinic in eastern Tibet. This health clinic and pharmacy provides free health care and affordable modern and traditional Tibetan medicine to primarily Tibetan nomadic families. These areas of Tibet suffer from some of the highest maternal mortality rates in the world. Access to care is unreliable and many Tibetan families are unable to afford or are uncomfortable going to urban Chinese hospitals.
Based in Gabde, Golog province in eastern Tibet, our clinic is largely self-sustaining, with currently a rotating basis of Tibetan doctors and nurses.
But we need your help. Our medical staff is unpaid and work on a volunteer basis. As fees are not charged for medical visits, income into the clinic is low. Yet it is critical that medical visits remain free for these poor, underserved nomadic communities.
For only 500 euros per month, we can pay the monthly income of one doctor. Please help us retain and fairly compensate our hardworking doctors and nurses.
Your support will help ensure that the sick and vulnerable in this remote place of Tibet receive the care they need.
