Support Russ and Cindy's Emergency Mold Remediation

Russ and Cindy are in an extremely bad situation and need some serious help immediately!

I think many of you know Russell “Catdaddy” Gillespi and Cindy “Leggs” Kieffer Turner who live in Bisbee and play music all over Cochise County. Russell is also a well-known artist who specializes in surreal paintings. Their entire house has been inundated with mold spores, which is making them sick. Russ has rashes all over his body, and both of them are experiencing watery eyes, vertigo, shortness of breath, dizziness, and a distorted sense of smell. I am afraid it’s going to put them both in the hospital in the coming days. They have had to get rid of their clothes multiple times; most of their bedding, including mattresses, is gone. They are buying clothes from thrift stores only to have to throw them away a few days later. Their washing machine does not clean well enough to get rid of the spores. They can no longer use the central heat in their house as it spreads the spores throughout the house after they are done cleaning it. So, they are using space heaters, which are really not enough to keep them warm. Most of their furniture is gone, and they are sitting on fold-up chairs. Russ is 77 years old, and Cindy is struggling with medical problems that decrease her mobility. I feel they could use help of any kind: a crew to empty out their house completely and help them clean, bedding supplies, clothes, etc. They have exhausted their finances, so that’s why I’m putting up this GoFundMe. They have quotes that run as high as $40,000 from licensed mold remediation contractors out of Tucson. GoFundMe does take a small percentage of donations, and if that is the only way you can contribute financial help, then please use it. I have known Russ and Cindy for 10 years, and when Russ called me a few days ago, I had never seen him so humbled, bewildered, and afraid of what’s going to happen next. Kathy and I gifted them enough money a couple of days ago so they have enough to survive on for 4-5 days, and we will donate again once my paycheck comes in. Please, please help. I’m really at a loss for words on how to better help them!!
