Support Russ Smith's Stroke Recovery Journey

Just over two months ago, our lives changed overnight. My partner, Russ Smith, suffered a serious stroke that led to extended hospitalization and left him unable to work or drive. The stroke also affected his ability to maintain balance—something we once took for granted, and now something that impacts every part of daily life.

Russ is in the middle of a long and difficult rehabilitation process. While he continues to work hard at recovery, his condition has made it nearly impossible to return to work in his field. With a looming economic downturn, the possibility of extended unemployment feels increasingly real—and frightening.

I’m a full-time teacher, and while I’ve been able to cover some of our basic expenses, my pay stops in June until the next school year begins in August. We've sold furniture, electronics, and anything else we could to stay afloat—but we’re now at a breaking point.
