Support Rusty's Fight for a Better Home in San Antonio

Hi! I’m Jason, Rusty’s older brother. A couple years ago during start of the pandemic, Rusty found himself without a job since he was a baseball umpire, coach, and youth leader. Since then, he has also developed some medical challenges that make him unable to do as much physical work. All this led to some housing instability, which was especially challenging during the summer heat wave in Texas.

So 2022 we quickly converted a garage in a home I own in San Antonio. I installed a bathroom and shower and a split A/C unit, but I could only afford the basics. It was costly to just do that, and I need to keep Rusty’s rent low or he can’t afford it.

The great news is that Rusty is safe, working 40+ hours a week, fighting through his medical challenges, and starting to thrive.

We could use your help! We need to put some finishing touches in the garage. Especially one critical component: he needs a kitchen to prepare food at home! I also want to lay down some basic flooring, and if there was enough funds, I’d like to fence off a small area in the back so he has a little yard.

My hope is to get him set with a nice little place that he can be proud of. He’s been working hard to pay rent and dig himself out of his medical challenges, he could use your love and support to help get his home in better shape!
