Support Ryan MacKinnon's Fight Against Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and the Chicago Comedy Community,

We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to support our dear friend and talented Chicago comedian, Ryan Mackinnon. Ryan is currently facing a challenging battle with stage four esophageal cancer. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Ryan, you know him as an intelligent, kind, strong, quick-witted, and caring individual who has touched many lives.

Before his diagnosis, Ryan was dedicated to pursuing his dream as a stand-up comedian, inspiring everyone around him with his relentless work ethic, creativity, and passion for the craft. His journey has been a source of motivation for many to chase their own dreams with the same fervor. Unfortunately, his ability to perform has been significantly impacted by his illness.

To support Ryan during this difficult time, we are hosting a comedy fundraiser on September 17, 2024, at 8 p.m. at The Laugh Factory in Chicago, the very venue Ryan has called his comedy home. Our goal is to raise as much funds to assist with his medical expenses and to provide him with a financial safety net as he looks forward to overcoming this battle and returning to his passion for stand-up comedy.

The comedy community is rallying together for this special event, which will feature a lineup of local comedians handpicked by Ryan, surprise sets from some of his favorite touring headliners, and contributions from local businesses like "I Forgot the Brand" and Professor Pizza, who will be raising money through their products.

We’ve launched this GoFundMe page to reach as many people as possible and to offer an alternative way to contribute if you’re unable to attend the event. Your support means the world to us and to Ryan.
