‘’Message Hi, Ryan's sister here Stacey, first off I just want to start by saying thank you so much to Connor, ste and everyone else involved in making this fundraiser happen for Ryan and his family, I will write this on behalf of Ryan though because he didn't know anything about this and when got told the first thing he said was he doesn't want to be a charity case and the money should go to charity again, I disagree and think now is the time for him and his family to have some financial stability and not worry about money while going through cancer for the second time with a baby on the way, the first time aswell as this time ryan and Shannon and others are out of pocket and that's the last thing they all need to worry about is money troubles, it's totally appreciated and things like this don't go unnoticed in these horrible, difficult times for Ryan and his wife Shannon and all the family, I was asked by Connor just to pop this little message on so here goes, my little brother Ryan was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma on the 7th January 2021 at just 23 years old. This is a type of blood cancer that starts in the lymphatic system, when we got told the news of this 2 years ago it broke everyone hearts, the first thing ryan thought about was raising money for the Christie's nhs foundation trust in Manchester to raise money for people that might be in the same position as himself and with his heart of gold he wanted to give something back, he was actually going to wait until all his treatment had finished and he got the all clear until he raised some money, but one night he was admitted into ICU with sepsis and pneumonia and many other complications due to having an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. This led ryan to being put in a induced coma for 8 days in Furness general hospital, while he was in there for 2 weeks the hospital staff couldn't do enough there were incredible. What I'm saying is while going through all this he always thought of other people and raised over 15 thousand pound for the Christie's, I am so proud of him we all are, he did eventually get the all clear that year and he rang that bell , it was a massive relief for everyone especially ryan and Shannon. he practically travelled there everyday at one point for all his treatments, Shannon his wife was there by his side every second and every minute of every single day while going through a global pandemic while it was covid and lockdown was just awful for all the family, not being able to see one another, my mam and dad were also a massive support for Ryan, my dad drove him to Manchester and back every single day and being there by his side every step of the way! It's what you do for you children! Ryan and Shannon also got told while Ryan was going through chemotherapy that he might not be able to conceive children with having no sperm count, they couldn't even get any to freeze , and fast forward after he got the all clear ryan and Shannon got married in November 2021 it was the most beautiful wedding, and not long after announced they were pregnant with a beautiful baby girl! Moving onto this year now. the last couple of months for Ryan and Shannon have been absolutely horrendous, ryan got admitted again into Furness general hospital with what they thought was tonsillitis. To being poorly getting some results back which resulted in him being back in the Christie in Manchester, he has now been diagnosed with a second form of cancer which is leukaemia ( Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), A secondary cancer in the space of a few years, there is a 2 percent chance of this happening to people! So Ryan will now stay in the Christie in Manchester for the foreseeable while he undergoes all the treatment he needs. I have no doubt in my mind that he will fight this awful disease again and ring that bell for his wife and his little girl that is due in July! Shannon you are an absolute angel in disguise and I have no doubt in my mind without you my brother wouldn't have the strength he has to fight this! And to my parents, there amazing, my dad swapping with Shannon every 3 and 4 days so she can go to her midwife appointments etc! To the people that are driving there and back every 3/4 days without hesitation, Shannon's dad, her mam and step dad and us if we were ever needed! This is the support he needs to push him through this awful treatment again, I might have to give my brother my stem cells but if I could take this away I would in a heart beat, Thank you to everyone that raises money for this fund raiser for Ryan and his family! It will help them massively without them even realising it, You got this Ryan we all love you ❤️...’’
