Support Ryan's Community Furniture Mission
Donation protected
My name is Ryan Bleau and I'm the owner of R. Bleau Woodworking Services. Between a full-time life and a full-time job, I build beautiful furniture. I would like to take my builds to another level but funding is hard for small businesses like mine. I donate furniture builds to local communities and try to make high-end furniture more affordable for those with fixed incomes. I'm trying to raise the money for a larger shop space and slightly better tools. The end goal of all of this is to develop a cabinet and furniture shop where I can train those that want to learn a trade and hopefully give back to a community that has opened its doors to me and my family. My goal is create a space where locals can come and learn a trade, build their own projects and create a community of makers. When someone has the desire to build, fix, or create but doesn't have the space, the tools or the skills necessary, I want to be able to provide the resources for just that. At the end of this I want to be able to leave a business for my two boys, one who is autistic, to thrive and carry on a trade that is quickly disappearing or going overseas.
List of tools we are looking to upgrade or purchase:
Edge bander
Line Boring machine
Panel Saw
Cabinet Saw
Track saw
Dust Collection system
More examples of my work can be found at my facebook page
Update: so far with the current donations I have been able to repair a damaged wall to my current shop and add an exterior door for customer use. Although the main purpose of this campaign is a new workshop altogether, I am making due with what has been given. I am very appreciative of what is given.
