Support Ryan's Heroic Act: Truck Repair

Donation protected
I'm not one to ask for handouts and have never created a GoFundMe before. That being said, I really would like to raise the money to repair my boyfriend's truck.

On 9/6/24, my boyfriend, Ryan, was driving home from work on westbound 6th Avenue. The car in front of him was swerving back and forth across all lanes of the highway, then ran into the center median, driving up it and almost flipping over, and then back across all lanes and ran into the outside wall. He finally got next to the car and realized the woman in the driver's seat was unconscious. He tried honking and yelling out the window at her, none of which helped. She was heading towards an underpass and would have driven off onto the traffic below on Wadsworth, had he not taken the quick and selfless action he did. He pulled in front of her and used his truck to bring her car to a complete stop. Her doors were locked and she was still unconscious, so he used a jack from his truck to break her window out. He then found a nurse in the cars stopped behind them to help assist her until emergency personnel arrived on the scene. She was awake when the paramedics took her to the hospital, and they believe she may have had a seizure while driving. Ryan was so relieved that she was alive and conscious before they left the scene. If he had not taken the action he did, she may have died, and I have no doubt that countless others could have died or been severely injured as well.

The emergency personnel and tow truck driver were all shocked at his quick action and willingness to damage his own vehicle to stop her. I am not even remotely shocked because this man is as selfless as they come. He is always willing to help another in need, despite any financial burden it may cause him. He truly has the biggest heart in the world. Being a good human is great for the heart/soul and in this case saved lives, but it can also be financially draining at times.

His truck is his baby. It's 20 years old, but he has taken care of it and invested a lot of money to maintain it. It at minimum needs a new bumper, but we have not taken it in to see if there is any underlying damage behind it.

This man has given so much and works hard to provide for our family. This year has been very emotionally and financially draining on us. We have lost 5 family members this year. The unexpected travel/funeral expenses and time off work have taken a toll on us financially. With 5 teenagers and the cost of living being what it is, we just don't have the extra funds to fix it at this time. We both were raised to work hard to earn the things we need and want in life, and we do. I just find it so sad that there is not something in place to repair hard-earned property that is damaged in a situation like this. Despite that, neither he nor myself would have changed a thing. I'm very proud of his heroic act and quick thinking.

I am not asking for a reward for his act, simply to be able to repair the damage caused to his truck by taking action to save at least one, if not mutiple lives that day. If you feel it in your heart to donate towards his truck repair, it would mean the world to both of us. If you can't donate at this time, we understand completely and would greatly appreciate it if you could share so this may reach those that are able and feel led to donate.
