Support Ryan's Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Susan and I am Ryan’s mom. On July 21, Ryan woke up with what she thought was food poisoning. She kept vomiting, got severely dehydrated, and had to be taken to the ER. While at the ER, she became unconscious. They immediately intubated her and took a CT scan. It was then they saw an intracranial hemorrhage. That began her 83-day stay in 3 different hospitals. She had to be intubated 3 different times, and she contracted meningitis and pneumonia 2 times while in the hospital. Her recovery will be lengthy and costly. She just bought a home for her and her daughter; she is a single mom of a 9-year-old. Her job as assistant director is no longer due to her FMLA running its course, and now she is on leave of absence. I am worried about her medical needs and insurance. She doesn’t have any money other than child support coming in. Ryan was a normal, healthy 35-year-old. No health issues, and on July 21, with no warning, it all changed. I have left my home with my husband to provide 24-hour care for her and my granddaughter. She has lost mobility in her right leg and right arm. She has a tracheostomy and a PEG feeding tube. She has no voice and can only mouth her needs. Ryan needs financial help to keep her household afloat to get her through her recovery. She hopes that after recovery, she can resume her career.
