Support Ryan's Recovery from Severe Injuries
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Brenda, I am Ryan’s mother. On June 25 Ryan was in a horrific car accident which left him in ICU at Atrium Health Carolina Medical Center for 3 weeks. Ryan has a traumatic brain injury with a large amount of swelling on his brain that required emergency surgery, which the medical team had to remove the right side of his skull, he had significant bleeding on his brain which took 9 days to remove. He also suffered a spinal injury in his neck. Ryan was breathing with a ventilator for 12 days. On June 28th Ryans heart rate went to 155 and he suffered a stroke. After much medical attention Ryan was then moved to the Trauma Unit. Ryan was there for a week and a half. Once in the Trauma Unit Ryan began experiencing severe pain in both feet and in his right hand. He has nerve damage to his feet and possibly his hand.
Ryan is now in the Rehabilitation Center, working to rebuild himself. Ryan is improving each day and will continue to do therapy each day to regain strength and mobility.
Ryan will have to return to the hospital for surgery to have his right side of his skull reattached in possibly three to four months depending on how fast the swelling on his brain subsides. There will be more recovery and therapy as well;
Ryan was a hard working young man, he did his own Landscaping business which included mowing lawns, delivering and laying mulch, rocks, trimming hedges, pressure washing, planting beds of flowers. He also did moving services, junk removal, planting trees. Ryan serviced many families. Now that the accident has occurred he is unable to work and support his home and daily needs. Ryan doesn’t know if and when he may return to work due to his injuries.
The funds will support Ryan in his recovery. They will be used for medical supplies, transportation to and from therapy, medications and caregivers who will help take care of Ryan during his recovery and any other needs that may come about during his recovery.
Thank you for your support. God bless each of you.
