Please help support Sabah and her family

Hello, I am Sabah Rajab Abu Ghanem, a mother of 3 children, and I am from the Sheikh Ajlin neighborhood in Gaza City, Palestine. I am a swimming coach and surfer. I have been in several media stories and documentary films including "Gaza Surf Club", filmed in 2014 and a documentary called Chicks on Boards, directed by Dörthe Eickelberg. It took home the 2021 Sister City Award and Cinemare+Ocean. When I finished filming the film with Dörthe, I got married and quit surfing, and two years ago I returned to surfing, and these are the pictures you see from two years ago in 2022. I was dreaming of establishing a swim club for girls to teach them the arts of swimming and surfing, but the war came and destroyed everything I dreamed of. We initially fled to Rafah and we were sheltering there with my extended family but I am now in Khan Younis with my husband and children. The situation here is very unstable and we have had to move our family multiple times as the fighting continues to shift all around us.

We are lucky to be together as a family but our situation here is very bad. Our main need is food but it is very expensive. We have no money and no way to earn money. The food that is available to us is very expensive and we are struggling to feed our children. We feel helpless. The food we can buy is poor quality and our stomachs are sick. We can see better food and meat available here but cannot afford it. We have lost our homes, our jobs and are surviving one day at a time.

My family kindly asks for your financial support to help us survive this terrible situation. We will use this fundraiser to pay for food and shelter, which we need to rebuild every time we are forced to move. If we can raise enough money we will consider leaving Gaza and going to Egypt.
