Support Sabine's "Creative Cancer" Journey

Donation protected
Hey, Sabine here with a health update.

So, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer 4 years ago. At the time, I was given 2 years to live, and the goal of my treatment was never to kill the cancer but to extend my life (including keeping a certain degree of quality of life, which honestly is laughable and just something they say, but ok). Lots of traumatizing experiences along the way because of the way I respond to pain and how ignorant our medical industry is to this “phenomenon.” After stretches of hormone therapy, natural therapies, surgeries, more meds, radiation (that made everything worse), the undeniable pattern in my case is that apparently due to a couple of mutations I have, my cancer only responds to meds for about a month, including chemo, and then it starts to rapidly grow back. After a couple of rounds of chemo in the past 3 months, I can now say with 100% certainty that it’s no longer working… again. The next chemo is going to be even harsher than this one and probably the last option. It’ll basically destroy my body while, when looking at my patterns, will most likely only beat the cancer back for about a month. And then I’ll be left with a destroyed immune system and no guaranteed options.

So, I’ve made the decision to NOT continue the chemo or radiation and go back to alternative therapies and pray for the best. I will die quicker and in a more traumatizing way to my family if I continue with what doctors are throwing at me at this point. There are multiple therapies out there that have seen great results, but they are considered “controversial,” so I’m not going to discuss here what I’m doing. But know that I am still on top of it and if it works, I’ll HAPPILY share my story.

Meanwhile, I’m reaching out to get some support to help me finish some art projects so I can leave some things behind for my family. As most of you know, Ron works his butt off to provide for this family - basically does a job right now that really should be handled by at least 4 people and that’s not an exaggeration and I’m gonna force myself to not go on a rant here. And he deals with Crohn’s on top of all… and we have Logan and Arwen, both on the autism spectrum, working hard right now to try and transition into independence and find jobs and all that. It’s a heavy plate for all of us for multiple reasons.

So, some of my projects I may not be able to finish (although I do have every intention to finish), but I’ll work on it in such a way that much of it can stand on its own. So, if you decide to contribute, make sure to share your address with me and I will send you a signed print along with my most heartfelt thanks. One of my projects is a children’s book and I will add all contributors in the acknowledgements. Anything is greatly appreciated!!

Update (02/11/25): My $50,000 hospital bill is still being processed and going through insurance, etc. The amount not covered is steadily increasing and currently sitting at $6,000. So, some of the money raised is going toward this bill. The "rest" is going toward alternative medicine and hopefully, when finished, printing at least 250 copies of the children's book and donating them to Mayo children with cancer.

Thank you and hopefully I have a better update soon.

With Gratitude,

Sabine
