Help Sabrina Recover from Neck Injury Accident
Donation protected
Hi friends and community, I'm Sabrina and I'm fundraising for unexpected medical costs. Late Saturday night, on May 11, I was hit by a motorbike while walking across the street from a local hangout spot where I live in India. The driver tried to flee but was caught by the bouncers. He had no money or insurance as he was a dishwasher from a small village, joyriding his boss's bike while drunk. Consequently, he cannot contribute to my medical expenses.
The next day, the excruciating nerve pain led me to the hospital, where x-rays revealed a fractured neck compressing my spinal cord, causing nerve pain and paralysis in my arms and hands. Unable to afford an ambulance to another hospital for more tests, as highly suggested by the doctor, a friend took me in a taxi for a CT scan the following day. The neurosurgeon confirmed I was very lucky and didn’t need surgery, but said to expect a long and painful road to recovery.
I lack the funds to cover these unexpected medical costs and properly care for myself. I am deeply grateful to a few friends who have helped cover the bare minimum so far, but they need to be repaid. And, to ensure full recovery with no future issues, I need better medical services: transportation to a more equipped hospital, neurosurgeon consultation fees, comprehensive tests, proper physiotherapy, and nutritious food to boost immunity and speed up healing.
Also, I can't work my second job due to nerve damage in my hands, which affects my ability to pay for things like healthy food. So, with no family support, I'm asking my friends and community to assist with my recovery and nutrition until September, when I can resume contributing my traditional cooking skills at Chapora's favorite Saturday popup spot!
CCTV footage of accident. Second angle is more graphic.

The fracture is on C4 and the compression on the spinal cord is C5-C6.

The hard Philadelphia neck brace I have to wear 24/7 for 6-8 weeks... will switch to a soft neck brace for another few weeks after that.
