Support Safe Housing for Cumberland's Vulnerable Children
Tax deductible
In Cumberland County, North Carolina, over 1,000 children face the devastating impacts of substance misuse, mental health challenges, and suicide within their families. Nearly 800 children are living in hotel rooms, trapped by a system that has failed to provide them and their parents with the support they desperately need. These children are left without a stable home, uncertain of where to turn, as they are forced into survival mode by generational poverty and a cycle of trauma. With poverty rates exceeding 18%, families in our community are struggling to escape the grip of homelessness, addiction, and mental illness.
We cannot break this cycle alone. We need the support of compassionate individuals like yourself. We understand that everyone is facing hard times right now, and we know how important every dollar is to all of us. But just imagine for a moment if you didn’t have that dollar. If you had to choose between feeding your family or paying for a place to stay.
That’s why we are raising $100,000 toward establishing a facility right here in Cumberland County where we can temporarily house families with children or unaccompanied children until we can secure permanent housing for them. During their stay, parents will be placed in a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes financial literacy classes, employment support, and mental health and substance abuse services. Our goal is to ensure that, once families leave our program, they will be well-equipped to maintain long-term stability and thrive.
At the Marius Maximus Foundation, our mission is to prevent suicide, promote mental health, and combat substance abuse within our community. We offer innovative programs, compassionate care, and strategic partnerships to give hope, build resilience, and create pathways to recovery. Together, we aim to build a future where every child and family in our community has the resources and support needed to lead fulfilling lives."
