Support Safneeyah and Her Sons After House Fire
Donation protected
I am Safneeyah, A single mother to two amazing sons who are 16 and 8 years old. On Wednesday 01/22/2025, a snowy morning in GA, I lit the fire place in my room.
I stepped out the room to make tea and within minutes I noticed fire seeping through the seams of the fire place.
My first instinct was to call out for my oldest son, to assure his safety & next for help trying to contain the fire. But quickly realized this fire was too deep within the wall for us to do anything to stop the spread.
My son called the fire department, while yelling “mom we have to get out the house now!” Thankfully we got out in time and physically unharmed.
The fire fighters arrived and took action immediately. My son and I stood out in the cold and watched as the fire fighters broke through walls and ceilings. Finally after an hour and a half the fire chief assured us that the fire had been contained.
He then proceeded to walk us through the damaged areas of the house and explain the cause of the fire. due to the cold weather, the metal within the shaft of the chimney expanded and possibly cracked, causing the fire to escape into the walls of the room. Spreading up into the attic.
Fortunately my brother lived near by and arrived quickly to assist with collecting essentials that survived the fire & also offer a place to stay. Welcoming us into his home with his wife and seven children. He and my son took in as much as they could fit in the car and left everything else to be collected the following day.
Roughly 3 hours later, as we were settling in my brother’s home, I received a call from my neighbor stating that the house had been engulfed in flames again. Followed by horrific pictures of fires and smoke that was visible from several miles away. These flames not only had returned but damaged the remaining of our possessions. Due to on going medical issues, I am unfortunately unable to work and have been deemed “disabled”.
I am asking for donations of any kind and any amount to begin restoring mines & my sons lives. And also replace items that were destroyed inside the home. The entire contents of my bedroom along with furniture, appliances, majority of my son’s shoes & clothing were burned and lost.
No donation is too small & all are greatly appreciated!
