Support Sahara's Recovery from Heart Surgery

Sahara, a vibrant daughter, sister, and mother to a 15-year-old boy was diagnosed with an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm on April 30th. After being checked into the ICU the Doctors discovered that the aneurysm had dangerously grown to 5.3 cm. Sahara also suffers from Generalized Anxiety Disorder, which has likely contributed to the rapid growth of the critical size of the aneurysm. Sahara was scheduled for a lifesaving open-heart surgery on May 13th, just a day after Mother's Day.

To add to the stressful situation, complications arose when she developed a blood infection while in the hospital, forcing a postponement of her surgery until she received clearance from the infectious disease specialist.

On Friday, May 31st Sahara successfully underwent the extensive and complex procedure. Sahara requires a significant recovery period; at which time she will remain in the hospital. We are seeking to raise $15,000 to help cover Sahara's expenses, ensuring that she and her son can sustain themselves during her road to recovery. The worry of surgery, medical bills, and other living expenses has been incredibly stressful for her during this life changing time. She must do everything she can to remain calm, especially since her blood pressure remains only partially controlled.
