Support Saije's Transition Fund

Hello friends! We're writing on behalf of our friend Saije, who needs support from their community in order to continue her gender transition.
Saije is a beacon of love and support for the trans people in their life, and she works constantly to expand that love and foster community. They organized and led a rally to celebrate Black trans people in the Hudson Valley. If you were present at that rally then you know the almost magical connection we all felt on that day, all because of Saije’s vision. They also invest their time in corporate accountability and work to uplift other Black people & systems-impacted people in the Hudson Valley.
As they came into their queerness, Saije lost the support of her biological family and was kicked out at 19. Although those experiences were hard, their newfound "freedom," meant they could further understand their sexuality and gender. As she began their transition, they also found community that supported them in who they are. Now she is asking for help from you, her community, in the necessary and expensive task of medically transitioning.
In the US, the majority of transition related procedures for trans women are not covered by insurance; the average cost is a whopping $35,000. Outside of procedural costs, Saije will need to support themselves while taking time off work to recover.
Supporting Saije’s transition is an act of love, and they promise to return that love to their community in the years and decades to come.
