Hello! I’m Hibatallah. This fundraiser is to support my aunt, Sakina, in efforts to raise funds for her family to escape War in Sudan and seek refuge in Egypt. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring them one step closer to a safer life.

The story:

My name is Sakina, and I am a mother to a family of five beautiful souls, two spirited boys of 13 and 8, and three adorable girls aged 11, 4, and 2. I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart burdened by the harsh realities of a conflict we did not ask for, nor deserve - asking for your help in our fight for survival.

For over a year now, we have been trapped in the midst of the devastating war in Sudan, specifically in Sharq-Alneel, Khartoum. Every day is a living nightmare filled with fear and uncertainty that doesn't end when we wake. The horrors of displacement, violence, and unimaginable suffering have become our daily reality, and we live in constant fear that each day could be our last.

The impact of this conflict has been terrible. I have lost my job and all our assets. The inadequacy of food supplies and the soaring prices of basic necessities have made our lives a daily struggle for survival, even affording my long-term medications has become an unattainable luxury.

Yet, amidst this bleak reality, my greatest fear and concern are for my children. Their bright eyes, once filled with innocent joy, now reflect the cruel world they have been forced to navigate. The future - where they will live, where they will study, where they will find laughter again - seems so painfully uncertain. My heart aches at the thought of the trauma they have already endured.

With this fundraising campaign, I am reaching out for your help. The funds we hope to raise will allow my family to escape the horrors of war. It will cover the cost of our journey from Khartoum to Egypt and provide us with food and shelter for the first three months of our new start.

• My aunt Halima, a resident of the US, will be responsible for receiving the money from this GoFundMe campaign and then wire the funds directly to Sakina, ensuring that every dollar donated goes towards their escape and resettlement
