Displaced from Gaza - Support Salah and his family

I am starting this fundraiser to help a very good close friend (A great guy that I have known for many years) who along with his family is facing very tough challenges as result of the dire situation in Gaza. He and his family have lost everything and are now in need of your support to help them get a new lease on life and start new. Please help me raise funds for them, any amount is appreciated.
Below is their story with Salah's own words:
Our story begins in Gaza, a place we called home—a home filled with love, laughter, and dreams for the future. We lived in a stable home surrounded by the everyday comforts we took for granted. But everything changed when the war tore through our lives, leaving behind destruction and heartbreak.
When the bombings grew too close, we had no choice but to move south, hoping to find some semblance of safety. We ended up living in tent during the cold winter months. My two sons, just five and seven years old, didn’t understand why they were hungry and cold or why the home they knew was suddenly out of reach. Their small voices asking for food, warmth and safety haunted me; I felt powerless to provide for them.
As a father, nothing is more painful than watching your children suffer. When one of my sons fell sick, there was no help available. Every day was a fight for survival—against hunger, disease, and the constant threat of bombings. Many of our neighbors and loved ones didn’t make it.
After months of enduring this, my wife and I made the hardest decision of our lives: to leave Gaza. We left behind our home, our family, our business, and everything we had worked for, knowing they were likely destroyed. With little money and no clear plan, we prioritized one thing: keeping our children safe.
After making the decision to leave, the journey wasn’t easy. Crossing the border into Egypt, we left behind our memories and everything we had built.
But the challenges didn’t stop there. In this new country, we found ourselves without legal status, which made everything harder. I couldn’t find work because I lacked the proper documents, and I wasn’t able to enroll my children in most schools. The few international schools that were available were far too expensive for us to afford.
Now, we live in a very small home that barely fits our family. It was the only option we could manage, given the high rent and our limited resources.
Still, every day we try to rebuild our lives, holding on to the hope of giving our children the education and future they deserve.
We’ve thought about opening a small business to create a stable income and possibly gain legal status here. A shop or a modest venture could provide us with not only a livelihood but also a chance to rebuild a sense of purpose. However, starting from nothing makes this an uphill battle. Without savings, the financial burden feels overwhelming.
We dream of stability, but more than that, we dream of thriving—of creating a life where our children can smile freely, learn without limits, and believe in a future full of possibilities. No matter how difficult the journey, we refuse to give up. Our family’s story is one of resilience, and we are determined to write the next chapter with courage and hope.
Any support we receive will go directly to our children schooling, finding a more stable home, and eventually launching a small business or finding work to help us support ourselves.
