Support Saleh's Heart Recovery Journey

Hello, we are Jesse and Dalila Raymundo, and we are reaching out to ask for support for our cousin Cindy Silva and her husband Saleh Al-Shaikh along with their children. They are going through an incredibly tough time right now and any help would mean the world to them.

Saleh was in Massachusetts on a work trip and in the early morning hours on Friday, January 24th, he began to experience severe chest pain, sweating, heaviness in his left arm, and shortness of breath. He called the front desk of the hotel and stated he was having severe chest pain and to please call 911. He was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. His EKG showed a STEMI, which is a type of massive heart attack caused by a complete blockage of a coronary artery. Doctors immediately had to put in a stent in his artery due to it being blocked at 100%. Doctors expressed to Saleh that he was very lucky to have survived this heart attack, which is also known as the “widowmaker” and only has a 12% survival rate. His wife and oldest daughter, Sarah, arrived late that night to be by his bedside. Unfortunately, due to the severity of the heart attack, the heart muscle was greatly affected. Saleh’s heart function rate is currently at 41% when the average person’s heart function is anywhere between 60-70%. We are praying that with time, rest, medication, and a heart-healthy diet, Saleh’s heart muscle will regain strength.

On Sunday, February 9th, Saleh had to be admitted to Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano. He had passed out in his home early that morning. Doctors believed one of his medications may have contributed to his blood pressure dropping. He is now wearing a heart monitor for 2 weeks. We know this has to be an extremely scary time for Saleh and his family and your support means the world to them during this time.
