Support Sammy's Final Journey Home

Donation protected
In love and memory of Jose Samuel De La Torre Melendrez, the family has decided to make a GoFundMe to lay Sammy's body to rest in his hometown, Tepatitlán, Jalisco, Mexico.

My dear cousin Sammy lost his battle against cancer at just 26 years old. Last year, he came to the United States in hopes of making his dreams come true. He dreamed of coming to work and providing for his family back home, buying a house in Mexico, and owning his dream old-school Ford truck.

Months into being in the States, he was diagnosed with cancer. With all his hope, strength, and support of his family, he did all the measures he could to survive. At the beginning of this year, he began doing chemotherapy to start his battle against cancer. For a couple of months, he was found stable. After frequent visits to the emergency room, one month ago he was told that the cancer was very aggressive and had spread throughout his body. They found cancerous tumors in his head and even performed multiple head surgeries. It was up until two weeks ago that they began the radiations, and after that, it went downhill. He fought till the very end like a warrior with all his strength, but God needed him more.

I am making this fundraiser to raise funds so his parents, who were blessed to get a visa just in time to see his last days, can take him back home to finally rest in peace and be with his siblings. Anything that you guys are able to donate would be a great help for his loving family.
We will miss you very dearly. May you rest in love and peace cousin. We love you.
