Support San Quentin NHRG Reconnect to Their Roots

The San Quentin Native Hawaiian Religious Group (NHRG), Halau Hula Kealapono, is holding their annual Makahiki celebration on November 1, 2024 (date subject to change depending on institution conditions). The NHRG is a group of gentlemen from diverse backgrounds exemplifying an underrepresented community, incarcerated Asian American and Pacific Islanders.

Kealapono's mission and theme for their 2024 Makahiki is to reconnect to culture, retracing their Polynesian roots back to Asia, displaying a variety of cultural highlights in a revered order of migration. From New Zealand back to Samoa and ultimately back to Asia and Africa.

Your donation will go towards garments representing each island, food for 200 guests, musical instruments, and miscellaneous items pertaining to the event. All contributions are deeply appreciated and help towards the rehabilitation and healing of the incarcerated API.
