Support Sandra Omoye Midwifery Journey

Greetings all!
My name is Sandra Omoye Akhareyi (she/her). I'm a first-generation Nigerian-American born in the boogie down Bronx but raised in Yonkers, NY. I'm collecting funds for my midwifery education so that I can learn midwifery in a way that will impact my community and the likes.
Black women and babies in the USA have the worse maternal/infant mortality and morbidity rates of any group in the country and studies have shown that having access to culturally conscious and respectful midwifery care is necessary to shift that narrative. I believe having access to black midwives who provide culturally conscious and respectful midwifery care is key. "States that give midwives a greater role in patient care achieve better results on key measures of maternal and neonatal health ."
I'm a first-year Student Midwife at Midwives College of Utah. Although fortunate enough to be in a school whereby financial aid is an option, the funds don't cover the cost of my education 100%. As I prepare to step forth into my calling of serving women, I've had to face the harsh reality that being able to sustain a traditional 9-5 job and keep up with the workload of my midwifery education isn't conducive to my overall well-being/mental health. So I'm asking for my community's help in assuring that I have monetary donations to aid in my care.
The amount I'm hoping to raise will cover my tuition, books, trainings, transportation, and supplies.
