Help to continue Sangita's legacy

Donation protected
With a heavy heart, we must inform you of the untimely passing of our beautiful, compassionate, and outspoken friend, Sangita, on December 15th, just two weeks ago. At the age of 35, Sangita leaves behind her beloved eight-year-old son and husband.

Sangita dreamed of seeing her little boy grow up, and she was incredibly passionate about community work and education. In honor of her, we have one last opportunity to make a meaningful impact on her son’s life by ensuring he can continue his education at the school he loves — something that will provide him with a sense of stability in these profoundly difficult times.

Due to the extent of her illness, Sangita’s husband had to give up his job to care for her in the hospital. In Nepal, a family member must stay with the patient at all times to assist with their care, which added to the financial burden on the family. Despite their ongoing struggle with high medical bills, we can ease some of their financial pressure by ensuring that Sangita's son can remain at the same school by helping to cover his school fees.

Any donation, big or small, will be deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate through GoFundMe (for example, if you have a Nepali bank account), please feel free to contact Rianne directly.

Thank you for your generosity. So far, we have used 5,460 euros of the raised funds to cover medical bills. Any additional money we raise will be used for Sangita's son's education. We greatly appreciate your continued support in helping us honor Sangita's legacy.

Warm regards,
Sangita's Support Team: Rianne, Sally, Tara, and Alex

March '24 Our friend and colleague Sangita has been diagnosed with cancer (signet ring cell carcinoma, stage 3). Her life has been turned upside down.

Five weeks ago, she was still working but began feeling unwell, and went for a check-up to find out she had to start chemo and radiotherapy combined immediately.

She is still undergoing this treatment, which has been extended as it didn’t yet have the results they hoped to see. An operation will follow these treatments. Sangita is showing incredible bravery and strength during this time.

Cancer treatments are expensive in Nepal, and the insurance covers only a tiny part of the costs. So far, Sangita and her family have been trying to cover the expenses themselves. Still, they cannot pay for the ongoing treatment. Sangita is fighting hard to conquer this horrible disease and to stay positive.

Sangita is always looking for ways to support others. She has supported people during and after the earthquake, the petrol crisis and the pandemic through her job. Her focus on quality education for all in Nepal has led her to organise teacher training, workshops, and fundraisers to provide learning supplies. Now she needs our help.

Please help us support Sangita and her family in this challenging time by donating so she can pay her medical bills.
