Support Sanitation and Energy Projects for Ugandan Students Learning Digital Skills
The Spectrum Education Center, located in the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Uganda, is dedicated to creating a productive, safe, and healthy learning environment for our students. With 40 engaged students and 2 acres of land for future expansion, our growing facility currently supports technology education programs including AI literacy. However, access to clean water, proper sanitation facilities, and reliable power remains a challenge, impacting our students' health, safety, and ability to focus on their studies. We urgently need your help to raise $20,000 to construct latrines, improve sanitation facilities, and initiate energy improvements at our school. Your generous contributions will directly support the following critical needs:
Where Your Money Will Go
Construction of Latrines: $3,500
This will cover the materials and labor needed to build safe and hygienic latrines for our students, ensuring they have access to proper sanitation.
Water Collection and Storage Systems: $1,500
We will install systems to collect and store rainwater, providing a reliable source of clean water for drinking and hygiene.
Fencing the Facility (Materials and Labor): $7,000
Proper fencing is essential to ensure the safety and security of the education center, water, and sanitation facilities.
Maintenance and Upkeep Fund: $1,000
A portion of the funds will be allocated for the ongoing maintenance of the facilities to ensure they remain clean and functional for years to come.
Phase One of Our Energy Improvement Project: $7,000
This will cover the initial purchase of solar panels and batteries to provide lighting and power to school laptops when the electrical grid is down.
Why Your Support Matters
Your support is crucial for providing immediate access to clean water, proper sanitation, and reliable energy, stabilizing the Education Center so the founders can focus on expanding transformative programs. By equipping youth with skills in green emerging technologies, sustainable practices, and exponential mindsets, we are preparing them for green careers and to address essential community needs in energy, water, and food, making them valuable assets in any community.
Time is of the essence. Our students need your help now more than ever. Please consider donating today to help us reach our goal of $20,000. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. Funds raised above our $20,000 goal will be used to further improve the reliability of our school’s power grid.
