Support Sara Ali's Fight Against Endometriosis

Hi, My name is Misbha Tajwar, and I am organizing a fundraiser for my friend Ms. Sara Ali. Sara is battling a chronic health issue named endometriosis stage 4. It is highly under-researched, and every 1 in 10 women has endometriosis. This disease is ranked amongst the top 10 most painful conditions in the world. The causes of this disease can be but not limited to genetics, epigenetics, environmental, psychological, and hormonal. The medical world still needs to figure out the root cause of this deadly disease, which affects women of all races and age groups. Endometriosis not only has painful symptoms, but it comes with the cost of infertility, severe allergic reactions, chronic gut issues, thyroid problems, vision problems, and the list goes on. Sadly, endometriosis has no cure. It is managed by hormonal pills and excision surgery, which is the only gold-standard surgery for endometriosis.

Sara has had this medical disorder since 2016, when she had excruciating pelvic pain during her periods. A doctor asked for a detailed ultrasound which depicted she had chocolate cysts or bilateral ovarian endometriomas. She was put on several hormonal medications to control the pain and symptoms, but it all was in vain when her cysts got bigger and bigger, and she started to have extremely painful periods. Her endometriosis was then surgically ablated by a Laparoscopy in 2022. No hormonal pill could control her pain, and hence, the doctor wanted her to go for the surgery, which ended in more pain and suffering as ablation is not the solution for endometriosis lesions and adhesions, but excision is.

Sara is living a harrowing and problematic life full of daily struggles to perform her regular tasks. She cannot attend the restroom like normal people, nor can she normally function due to terrible pain in her pelvic area and abdominal cavity. She had to leave her full-time job as she could not carry out her responsibilities like a normal human would. She is currently jobless and very much under psychological pressure to perform better in life. She is just 36 years of age and very behind in her career and personal life because of the constant pain and psychological pressure this disease has put on her. She wants to lead a normal life where she can perform her duties like a normal human.

Endometriosis is not just a painful medical disorder; it kills the spirit and soul of the sufferer. Sara feels like a burden to her family emotionally, physically, and financially. She practically has no social life and has lost almost all her friends. Due to her bad health, she is unable to maintain healthy relationships and feels disconnected and isolated all the time.

In order to get rid of the pain and return to a normal life, Sara needs the Gold Standard Minimally Invasive Excision Surgery by an Endometriosis Specialist. After extensive research and contacting several excision surgeons for case review, an excision surgeon in Latifa Women and Children Hospital, UAE, accepted her surgery case. It is cost-effective compared to the USA, but she is still unable to pay for it. She finally has a ray of hope now, as with this surgery, she will be having a pain-free life once again.
