Support Sara Ellis's Final Journey

First, let me say thank you for even reading this!!

Update: Mom took her last breathe Aug 3rd at 10:33 am. We were all there for her!!

My name is Erica, and my wonderful Mother is Sara Ellis. A few years ago, my mother had a fall in the kitchen that caused her spinal cord to be pinched between 2 vertebrae. This resulted in being bed bound until we could find a doctor willing to operate as she was high risk from COPD. We found one some months later, but she had already lost muscle mass in her legs and would not regain them. Being bed bound now for 4 years, her health has deteriorated. Despite fighting to get her improving, she has suffered 2 cardiac arrests, one in 2022 that she, by the grace of God, recovered from but resulted in seizures and one last year in August.

Last year was a tough one, right side paralysis and she became nonverbal. For my mom to lose her word was huge, she has always been the main one in the room! Over the past year, I have moved her home and cared for her completely, trying to get help from the state. The past few months, she has suffered from aspiration pneumonia and has had a hard time recovering. Two weeks ago, she was in the hospital with a lung drain tube and to get a feeding tube placed. In doing all this, they found stage 4 cancer of the lungs. We were blindsided, after all the hard work to keep her going, her body just isn't going to keep up. In my mother's condition and how aggressive the cancer is treatments is not an option. My mother is fully aware of what is happening and to hear you have fought so hard to retain some sort of life to being told you're dying is something unexplainable. You never understand till it happens to you or a loved one.

So now we are planning her funeral. We have been gifted a burial plot and are trying to come up with funds to cover the rest. Any and everything helps as we have poured so much into supplies for her.
