Support Sara & Frankie's Ordination Retreat Fund

Good news! Frankie and Sara, mitras in our Scottish sangha, have both been invited to ordination retreats this spring. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to be ordained during a long retreat in the Spanish hills, at Guhyaloka and Akashavana retreat centres - and they are keen to both go.

You may know Sara and Frankie from the Glasgow Young Buddhist Group, Buddhafield, Mitra study or classes at the Glasgow Buddhist Centre. They are dedicated, sincere and inspiring Dharma practitioners.

The combined cost of the retreats in Spain for the 10 weeks is euros 7400, about £6200 (plus travel). Sara and Frankie have between them £3000 saved for when they thought one of them might be invited in 2022. But now both have! So they need our help to raise another £3,350.

They started a new permaculture project in Dunlop, East Ayrshire last year, and plan to grow organic veg to sell locally. Being away this spring, means they will not have any income to help with the cost of the retreats.

We have a great tradition in the Scottish sangha of generously supporting mitras to go on ordination retreats. As Sara and Frankie’s private preceptors, we are asking you to donate any amount today, so together we can reach the target of £3,350 in the next 30 days. Thank you.
