Support Sarah Carnello's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
Sarah Carnello, known to Niceville for her many talents, was involved in a hit-and-run accident Saturday evening while taking her dog out. She was walking or riding towards her home in Bluewater Bay. Her phone light was facing backward when a vehicle hit her from behind. She remembers getting hit and being launched. Her dog was in the basket of her bike. She grabbed her dog as she was getting launched through the air. Sarah hit her chin and jaw on the bike and on the ground. She then hit her head on the concrete. She remembers a girl saying, “She is messed up; we got to go.” Sarah sustained severe road rash, a broken jaw with dislocation, and a concussion.
Sarah is an 8th-grade ELA teacher at Ruckel Middle School. Her name may also ring a bell as Coach Carnello took the Niceville Softball team to the Junior League World Series of Softball in 2023. Her girls won third place in the world.
Sarah is getting her jaw wired shut at 3:00 on Monday, the 14th. She will have a month of recovery. Her insurance will not pay for all of this. After oral surgery, she will visit a dentist to have teeth placed in her mouth. Between the oral surgery and leave from work, their family is in financial need.
We would greatly appreciate any donation you can make. Please share this link with everyone on all social media platforms.
