Support Sarah Gibson's Breast Cancer Fight

Dear Family and Friends,

We are coming together to rally behind our sister, daughter, friend, and loving mother, Sarah Gibson (Burt), who is facing the challenges of a newly diagnosed breast cancer battle. She has been a resident of the Miami area for most of her life and is actively involved in her children's activities such as wrestling, football, soccer, and gymnastics.

In early December Sarah found a lump and immediately went in for a checkup. Within a week of initial scans and biopsies, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29. She has been diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer that is known to be aggressive, Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC). On January 1st she traveled to Houston for appointments at MD Anderson where there is a clinic that specializes in this form of breast cancer. MD Anderson dictates her treatment based on their groundbreaking IBC research.



Sarah receives her chemo treatments locally at Freeman in Joplin, MO. She does travel to Houston for appointments at MD Anderson and will be returning in early March. After chemo, she will have to undergo surgery and radiation. As we all can imagine the unknown cost of treatment, travel, and living expenses during this time can be hard to wrap the mind around.
