Support Sarah's Brain Surgery Recovery

A weekend to celebrate.

Our first hosted 4th of July. We popped off fireworks at our new house. It was a success! Sophie's birthday is coming up on the 6th.

July 5th, a day we could we could get away for few and recharge. Just us, no kids, some adult time. Well, It started off as any other day. We had plans to get away with a couple of Sarah's friends for some fun floating the river. We got the kids set up with her mom for the day. We were only supposed to be gone for a half a day. We arrived, found our group, got ready and hit the water. There partners couldn't make it so I was fourth wheeling it with them, just there for the snacks at this point. Shortly after our world was turned upside down.

Sarah had a seizure while in her tube. We got her to the shore. Called the ambulance and got her to a hospital. They did a few scans and wanted to follow up with an mri. Since we were 2 hrs away and the kids were at home we headed back in the middle of the night. Next day we celebrated Soph's birthday. Just the family, nothing huge. Sarah slept for the next couple days.

Oy vey; little did we know it was just the beginning. We got the Mri results and like a kick in the balls it was worse than what we could of imagined. As ol' Arnie would say, IT'S A TUMOR! 5cm big. The size of a lime in the back side of her head. Clear as day, there it is, starting us right in the face. As any would do the next week was filled with every emotion one could muster. Waiting for the next appointment. We met with the doc and Brain surgery it is. What it is we won't know until it's removed and they biopsy it.

The surgery will be in August. After the surgery they estimate close to 4 months for recovery from the surgery. Hopefully we get good news from the biopsy but it's still 50/50, we don't know.
