Memorial for Brian Clark & Support for Sara Clark's Healing

Greetings,

If you haven't heard, Sara and Brian Clark were in a tragic accident on Monday, September 30th. Returning from a weekend beach trip in Mexico to celebrate Brian's 44th birthday, their bus was struck by a semi.

Brian’s condition, devastatingly, was not favorable. After being cared for by many and fighting for his life, hours later he ultimately died due to internal bleeding.

Sara sustained injuries but fortunately has no brain or organ damage. She has had surgery on her leg due to multiple femur fractures, and will need five bottom teeth replacements. She has received superior care in Mexico, though we've decided for her long recovery time that she would do best to recover where she is supported by family. A Med Evac has been arranged to transfer her to St. Louis in the coming week.

As Sara says, "Brian and I fell in love on a bus trip to Mazunte, Mexico. Eighteen years later we returned to Mazunte, and now the return bus trip has taken him from me. I'm grief stricken and also grateful of the gift of those 18 years."

I am one of Sara Clark's four sisters. With our family, and on behalf of Sara, we are raising resources to help cover medical expenses, supportive physical and emotional care during her anticipated long recovery, and funds that can support her as she enters the world anew without the assistance of Brian, who was the breadwinner.
