Support Sasha Darling's Recovery from the Altadena Fire
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Shannon Berke. My friend Christel McLean and I are organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of our lifelong friend Sasha Darling, an Altadena community member who lost her home and all of its contents in the Eaton Canyon Fire on the evening of January 7. She evacuated her home with nothing, not even her computer to keep her connected. You may know Sasha from her beautiful Los Feliz lifestyle boutique of 17 years, Bell Jar (www.shop-belljar.com). As life would have it, she has been at a crossroads in the process of closing her store and preparing for whatever the future may bring. She was looking forward to opening the next chapter of her life and enjoying some solitude at her home in the hills of Altadena with her pitbull Babe, while she explored her next steps. Sasha is an incredible artist, designer, and friend. Her talents and the way she brings beauty into the world never cease to amaze me. She is passionate about the environment, her family and friends, the conservation of her lifelong home of California, helping others who are going through addiction, and most of all, pitbull rescue. Sasha literally loves animals the MOST. She finds beauty in the simple things, and even in darkness, she always manages to find the hope and openness to allow space for potential and possibility. That said, Sasha now has a metaphorical mountain to climb as she navigates finances that are no longer there and a home she can no longer live in. A recent lupus diagnosis makes all of this even more challenging. A little support to get her through this time will go a long way. If you're like me, you may be looking for ways to help someone, anyone, who is now recovering from total loss and devastation from what can only be described as a horrific and catastrophic event. These fires have changed the lives of so many in an instant. We are all feeling the loss and devastation, and financially helping one person, or as many as you are able, is a direct, impactful way to help.
Your donation, no matter the amount, will help Sasha with:
- Supporting immediate needs
- Essential items like clothing and nourishment.
- Time and space to figure out a new source of income and gain stability.
** All funds received will go to non disaster related expenses!
Every contribution will help and those of us who love Sasha are grateful for whatever you can provide, whether it's monetary or simply sharing this campaign with others. Thank you for reading, sharing, and donating.
